Delhi-Dehradun Expressway To Be Inaugurated Tomorrow, Read The New Traffic Plan

Delhi-Dehradun Expressway: There is a strong sense of excitement and heightened security in Devbhoomi as Prime Minister Narendra Modi prepares to visit Uttarakhand. The Dehradun police and administration are making arrangements for his schedule and safety. Because of road repairs in Ganeshpur, Saharanpur district, Uttar Pradesh, and security measures for the Prime Minister, the Dehradun-Delhi Expressway will remain closed to traffic until April 14.

People heading to Saharanpur, Roorkee, and Delhi will need to use the older routes. Dehradun police have shared a detailed traffic plan to help the public.

  • Alternative Route 1: Start at the Shimla Bypass intersection and go through Nayagaon Road, Dharmawala Chowk, and Behat.
  • Alternative Route 2: Take Rispana Bridge, then go through Jogiwala, Laltpad, and Raiwala by way of Haridwar.
  • Alternative Route 3: If you are going to Chakrata or Vikasnagar, you can use Dharmawala Chowk and Shakumbari Devi Marg.

Entry to Daat Kali Temple Restricted

Prime Minister Modi will offer special prayers at the historic Maa Daat Kali Manokamna Siddhpith during his visit. Security agencies have ordered that devotees are not allowed to enter the temple from 5 p.m. on Sunday until 2 p.m. on Tuesday. About 100 kilograms of marigold, rose, and jasmine flowers have been brought from Vrindavan and West Bengal for the decorations.

A 14-kilometre mega road show and public meeting

The Prime Minister’s visit is seen as very important for both elections and development. A road show covering about 12 to 14 kilometres will take place in Dehradun. After the road show, the Prime Minister will speak at a large public meeting, which is expected to attract around one lakh people. Special events are also being held at Jaswant Ground in Garhi Cantt.

Delhi-Dehradun Expressway: Major time savings

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami called this visit a milestone for the state’s development. The 210-kilometre, six-lane expressway links Akshardham in Delhi to Dehradun. One of its main features is a 12-kilometre green elevated corridor that goes through the eco-sensitive area of Rajaji National Park. Solar lights and CCTV cameras are installed along the highway. When it is fully open, the trip from Delhi to Dehradun will take only 2.5 to 3 hours, down from the earlier 6 to 7 hours.
