Galaxy S26 Gets a Major Update
Samsung has released a new software update for the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra. This update includes the February 2026 security patch and is over 700MB in size. Users can download it from the Software Update section in Settings. Once installed, the new feature activates in Quick Share, enabling file sharing with Apple devices.
How will the AirDrop-like feature work?
With this update, Quick Share now works with Apple’s AirDrop protocol. This means Galaxy S26 users can send files directly to a nearby iPhone, iPad, or Mac. This works completely wirelessly and requires no additional apps or cables. However, the Apple device receiving the file must have AirDrop visibility set to Everyone for a connection to be established.
What are the conditions under which this feature will be available?
Several necessary updates must be completed to use this feature. The phone must have the latest firmware installed, as well as the latest version of Google Play Services and the Quick Share app. If these updates are not complete, the feature will not work properly. Samsung began this rollout in South Korea on March 23rd, and it will be made available in other European, U.S., and Asian countries in the future.
