Uttar Pradesh To Open 40+ New ITIs, 16,000 Seats Added For Youth Jobs

The Uttar Pradesh government is working rapidly on skill development to prepare the youth for employment. In line with this initiative, Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) are being expanded across the state. Plans are underway to commence admissions in over 40 new ITIs for the upcoming 2026-27 academic session, thereby providing thousands of young people with opportunities for technical and vocational training.

The government’s goal is to provide high-quality skill training to as many young people as possible at an affordable cost, enabling them to become self-reliant and secure better employment opportunities.

Creation of 16,000 New Seats

The government will add a total of 16,000 new seats across these new ITIs. Approximately 400 seats will be available in each institute. This will enable a large number of students to access vocational training.

Construction of Several ITIs Completed

According to the department, more than 28 new ITIs have been fully completed. Additionally, construction work on over 15 previously unfinished institutes has now been completed. With all these facilities in place, more than 40 ITIs will be operational during the new academic session.

Institutes to be Equipped with Modern Technology

To familiarise the youth with modern technologies, over 200 ITIs have been upgraded in collaboration with Tata. These institutes are equipped with modern machinery and equipment to ensure students receive training aligned with industry standards.
