Keeping in mind the convenience of passengers in the state, the facility of online seat booking will once again be introduced on Haryana Roadways buses. Preparations are underway to reinstate this system, which was discontinued nearly five years ago. Once implemented, passengers will be able to select their preferred seat from the comfort of their homes, making bus travel even more convenient.
This facility will primarily be implemented for roadways buses operating on long routes. Passengers will be able to book tickets online by visiting the department’s official website, selecting their travel date, route, and seat number. This will also relieve long queues at bus stations and make it easier for passengers to plan their travel.
This online booking facility was available on roadways buses before the COVID-19 pandemic, but was discontinued for various reasons. The department has now expedited the reinstatement process. Speaking of the Karnal depot, approximately 139 roadways buses are currently operating here, of which approximately 50 buses serve various routes within the state and other states.
The introduction of online booking will significantly benefit passengers travelling on these buses. If, for any reason, a booked bus is unable to operate on its scheduled route, the roadways department will notify passengers five hours in advance on the relevant website, ensuring no inconvenience.
The booking process was implemented here for a demo.
Haryana Roadways launched the online booking facility statewide at the Chandigarh and Yamunanagar depots for a demo. The online booking facility was successful there. It is now being prepared for a statewide rollout.
