Bhooth Bangla Vs Dhurandhar 2 Box Office: Akshay Kumar and Wamiga Gabbi’s film “Bhoot Bangla” released this week. After its release, the film significantly dampened the earnings of Ranveer Singh’s multi-starrer “Dhurandhar 2.” “Dhurandhar 2” had been earning well for about a month, but after the release of “Bhoot Bangla,” its earnings have declined significantly. This clearly shows that, albeit slowly, “Dhurandhar 2’s earnings are now declining.”
“Bhoot Bangla,” directed by Priyadarshan, hit theatres on Friday, April 17th. The film had generated considerable buzz before its release. On Thursday, the day before the film’s release, “Dhurandhar 2” grossed ₹3.40 crore. However, on Friday, “Dhurandhar 2” earned ₹2.70 crore. On opening day, Friday, ‘Bhoot Bangla’ earned a healthy ₹12.25 crore.
‘Bhoot Bangla’ dented the earnings of ‘Dhurandhar 2’
Although ‘Dhurandhar 2’ has made a bumper collection in just one month, given the film’s popularity, it was believed it would be able to stand up to ‘Bhoot Bangla’. But that doesn’t seem to be the case. ‘Bhoot Bangla’ has significantly dented Dhurandhar 2’s earnings in the first two days.
Pace slowed compared to last weekend.
‘Dhurandhar 2’ earned a bumper ₹7 crore last Friday, ₹13.50 crore on Saturday, and ₹14.50 crore on Sunday. These earnings were recorded on the film’s 23rd, 24th, and 25th days. On Friday, the 30th day, the film earned ₹2.70 crore, and on the 31st day, it earned ₹4.65 crore. This clearly shows that the release of “Bhoot Bangla” in theatres has shifted audience interest toward a new film. “Bhoot Bangla” has grossed over ₹1,110 crore at the domestic box office in 31 days, while worldwide, it has earned ₹1,748 crore.
“Bhoot Bangla” survives the storm of “Dhurandhar 2”
“Bhoot Bangla” was originally scheduled to release on April 10th. However, due to the meteoric rise of “Dhurandhar 2,” the film’s release was postponed. The film was released on April 17th, followed by a paid preview on the night of April 16th. The film grossed ₹3.75 crore from paid previews, while on opening day, it earned a whopping ₹12.25 crore on Friday and ₹19 crore on Saturday. The film has earned ₹35 crore in the first two days at the domestic box office. Whereas, it has collected Rs 61.50 crore worldwide in 2 days.
