New Honda NX500 E-clutch Unveiled In India With Automatic Clutch Technology

Japanese two-wheeler company Honda has launched its new adventure touring bike, the Honda NX500 E-Clutch, in the Indian market. The company has set the ex-showroom price of this motorcycle at ₹7.43 lakh. Bookings for the new bike have already begun at Honda BigWing dealerships across the country.

The biggest update to this bike is Honda’s new E-Clutch technology. This system electronically controls the clutch. This significantly reduces the need for the rider to repeatedly engage the clutch when starting, changing gears, and stopping the bike. This technology makes riding easier and more comfortable, especially in heavy city traffic. However, the company has clarified that, if necessary, the rider can use the clutch manually. This means that despite the automatic feature, the bike will still offer a motorcycle-like riding experience.

Reduced fatigue during long rides

According to the company, this new technology will be very beneficial for those who travel long distances daily in the city or enjoy highway touring. This system will significantly reduce fatigue caused by constant clutch use. During the launch, HMSI President and CEO Tsutsumu Otani stated that the new E-Clutch technology provides improved control and comfort both in the city and on the highway. It also maintains the excellent riding feel of Honda motorcycles.

Powerful Engine

Speaking of the engine, the Honda NX500 E-Clutch retains the same 471cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine. This engine comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The bike’s engine delivers strong torque in the low and mid-range, while delivering smooth power delivery even at high RPMs. This engine produces 46 bhp and 43 Nm of torque.

Improved Performance on Rough Roads

The new NX500 is built on a steel diamond frame. Showa SFF-BP USD front forks and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock handle suspension duties. For braking, the bike features dual front disc and rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS. The bike features a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel, providing improved stability on rough terrain and long-distance riding.

Advanced Features on the Bike

Speaking of features, the Honda NX500 E-Clutch features a 5-inch full-colour TFT display. It features Honda RoadSync connectivity, providing access to features such as navigation, call alerts, and music control. Additionally, the bike also features Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), full LED lighting, and several advanced riding features. The company is offering the new Honda NX500 E-Clutch in two colour options.
