Gurugram To Get 4 Major Highways, 5 New Flyovers To Transform The City

The state government has approved the budget for the project connecting the Dwarka Expressway and the Delhi-Jaipur Highway to the Gurugram-Faridabad Road in Gurugram.

A 14-kilometre-long elevated road will be constructed on the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) to connect the Dwarka Expressway and the Delhi-Jaipur Highway to the Gurugram-Faridabad Road. It is expected that the construction of this 14-kilometre elevated road on the Southern Peripheral Road will begin soon. Presenting the budget, the Haryana government approved ₹2,900 crore for the construction of this elevated road.

The road from Dwarka Expressway to Vatika Chowk is approximately 8.84 kilometres long, with an eight-lane elevated road. This will cost approximately ₹1,846 crore.

Similarly, the distance from Vatika Chowk to the Gurugram-Faridabad Road is approximately 5.1 kilometres. There are plans to construct an elevated road here at a cost of ₹1,065 crore. Once completed, this elevated road will connect the Dwarka Expressway, the Delhi-Jaipur Highway, the Gurugram-Sohna Highway, and the Gurugram-Faridabad Road.

This elevated road will facilitate easy access to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. A cloverleaf will be constructed at Vatika Chowk. The government also stated that the land acquisition process for the Greater SPR is in its final stages. 671 acres of land are being acquired for this approximately 21-km-long road.

Residents in these sectors will benefit.

The MDA has prepared a DPR for the construction of this elevated road. Once the budget is approved, the tender process for this road will begin. The target is to complete the construction work within 2.5 years. The construction of this road will benefit residents of developed sectors, colonies, and societies from Sector 45 to Sector 115.

Preparations underway to construct five flyovers and underpasses

The state government has approved the construction of four flyovers and one underpass in Gurugram in the budget. These include Ambedkar Chowk, Dadi Sati Chowk, Z Chowk (Millennium City Centre Metro Station), Bakhtawar Chowk, and Garhi Harsaru Railway Crossing. The government will spend approximately ₹302 crore on their construction. Tenders for the flyovers at Dadi Sati Chowk and Ambedkar Chowk will be floated within the next 15 days.
