To increase its revenue, the Transport Corporation is making its road buses more comfortable and changing rules, focusing on passenger convenience. Bookings for weddings can now be made a week in advance, instead of a month in advance. The reduced booking time is expected to increase the corporation’s revenue.
The Transport Corporation has issued guidelines regarding this. Soon, bookings will also be made online. The corporation is also launching an app for this purpose. With changes to the rules, booking will be easier for people. The corporation’s revenue is also expected to increase.
A total of 490 roadways buses operate on various routes from five depots across the division’s four districts. This includes 159 in Banda, 106 in Hamirpur, 137 in Maheba, 81 in Rath, and seven in Chitrakoot.
In an effort to increase revenue and provide convenience, the corporation has amended its rules, allowing bookings for road buses for weddings and picnics, etc., to be made a week in advance instead of a month.

Roadways buses can now be booked for private events for 400 kilometres and 24 hours for ₹27,808. It is often seen that vehicles are in short supply during wedding season. Reducing the booking time limit will not only provide convenience to the public but also benefit the corporation.
A request letter will be required for booking.
Until online booking is implemented, booking a bus for a wedding or picnic requires a visit to the depot office and the submission of a request. A wedding card will also be required. For distances exceeding 400 kilometres, an additional charge of ₹69.52 per kilometre will apply. The fare for up to 400 kilometres is ₹27,808, while private bus operators charge over ₹30,000 for this distance.
