Big Update for Train Passengers, UTS App to Stop Working from March 2026

Indian Railways is embarking on a major digital transformation for passengers. The popular UTS on Mobile app will be completely discontinued from March 1, 2026. Until now, passengers used this app to book general (unreserved) tickets, platform tickets, and season tickets. After the closure, all these services will now be available through the RailOne app. Indian Railways has taken this decision to provide passengers with all digital services on a single platform.

All features are available in a single app.

The Railways says that passengers will no longer need to download multiple apps for different purposes. RailOne is a unified app that will provide all the necessary information, from ticket booking to train information, in one place. The UTS app is being phased out and will become completely non-functional after March 1. Passengers can easily book general tickets through the RailOne app.

Additionally, they will be able to book reserved tickets and platform tickets, check PNR status, view live train running status, view train timetables, and view coach positions. Furthermore, the option to lodge railway-related complaints and suggestions will also be available within this app.

How to book tickets now?

Passengers will need to download the RailOne app on their mobile phones. This app is available on both Android and iOS platforms. After opening the app, log in with your mobile number. Then, select travel details such as boarding station, destination, and ticket type. Payment can be made using UPI, debit card, credit card, or net banking. The ticket will appear on your mobile phone upon payment.

What will happen to the UTS wallet?

Passengers who already have funds deposited in the UTS app need not worry. According to the Railways, the balance in their UTS wallet can be transferred to the RailOne app. The instructions provided in the app require following these steps. The Railways believes that providing all the features in a single app will save passengers time and make digital services easier and faster. The UTS app will be discontinued from March 1, 2026. In such a situation, passengers are advised to download the RailOne app in advance to avoid issues with ticket booking.
